December Meeting at The Breastfeeding Center of Pittsburgh

1. The morning session will be (unofficial title) 'The creation and operation of a lactation center within a private general pediatric practice'. This session will be presented by Todd Wolynn, MD, IBCLC and Nancy Brent, MD, IBCLC.
   
   
2. We are going to do something different for lunch and our business meeting from 11am - 12 Noon.n Because of limited space for tables at the Breastfeeding Center we are going to have lunch and our business meeting at the Chinese restaurant, the Silk Pagoda, 2 doors down from the Breastfeeding Center. We hope that you will enjoy this change of cuisine! We plan to choose 1 chicken, 1 beef,1 veggie and 1 shrimp choice to pick from.
   
   
3. In our afternoon session, Judy Gutowski will present Case Studies on a number of mother/infant conditions which can affect breastfeeding success.
   
   
4. Because space is limited, sign up early for this meeting. The registration form is under 'Downloads' on the site menu.
   
   
5. If you are interested in being part of a group mailing of memberships for ILCA for 2009, bring your checkbook! You can download the form for a group membership renewal at ILCA's website or fill it our at our meeting in December.

From the North:
Take I-279 S towards Pittsburgh. Take exit 8A onto 579 S across the Veterans Bridge. Take the ramp onto the Boulevard of the Allies towards Oakland/Monroeville. Take the exit ramp onto 376 E towards Monroeville. From the parkway, take exit 5 (Squirrel Hill/Greenfield). As you are exiting, you need to make an EARLY sharp right exit AGAIN - you have to exit off the exit ramp, onto Beechwood Boulevard (towards Greenfield). Follow Beechwood Boulevard approximately 0.5 miles. The Breastfeeding Center of Pittsburgh is in the plaza on the right, just before the first traffic light. (We're in the plaza near the Bruster's Ice Cream shop.)

From the East:
Take 376 W through the Squirrel Hill tunnels. Just after the tunnels, take exit 5 onto Beechwood Boulevard. The exit ramp curves around, watch for traffic merging from your left, and you need to make another sharp right exit AGAIN - you have to exit off the exit ramp, onto Beechwood Boulevard (towards Greenfield). Follow Beechwood Boulevard approximately 0.5 miles. The Breastfeeding Center of Pittsburgh is in the plaza on the right, just before the first traffic light. (We're in the plaza near the Bruster's Ice Cream shop.)

From the South & West:
Take the Parkway East (I-279 N / I-376 E) through the Fort Pitt tunnels towards Pittsburgh. At the end of the Fort Pitt bridge, take the first exit on the right (exit 6A towards Monroeville - 376 E). Follow 376 E approximately 4.5 miles, then take exit 5 (Squirrel Hill/Greenfield). As you are exiting, you need to make an EARLY sharp right exit AGAIN - you have to exit off the exit ramp, onto Beechwood Boulevard (towards Greenfield).
